  • THE MOTHER SHIP COMMUNITY
Zoie is a Natural Voice Network practitioner and believes that singing in community is a birthright lost to our western culture.
She is a catalyst for bringing song back into the lives of all people, to reconnect them with themselves, their communities, their land and all our lost stories.

Zoie has recently moved to Bristol and @bristolsingingmamas is go!!
She is now running groups at

ST WERBURGHS Community Centre , Friday mornings, and
HANHAM Community Centre on Monday mornings.
Full  info on SINGING MAMAS page.

She is also launching THE MOTHER SHIP COMMUNITY, a safe and nurturing song support space to navigate the crazy transition into motherhood. A small, fun, irreverent group of up to 10 women to laugh, cry, question and discover what they need and how things are changing as they move through pregnancy and into motherhood.

Watch this space for news on how to sing with Zoie at regular groups, workshops and retreats in the South-West and beyond.
The Autumn Chorus event in Herne Hill this September was so much fun!
The next London Seasonal Sing will be The Spring Sing, in March. Booking details here soon.

This New Year Zoie will be back performing in The Maldives in her eighth residency.

Zoie is part of a very exciting project,'Ursa Minor', a new play by Stephanie Street, directed by Abigail Graham. The story of a choir, of  motherhood, connection, loneliness and transformation through song.
We have already done a development week at the National Theatre studios... Watch this space!

Zoie recently ran 'The Sound of Community' at the ASHA centre as part of their Rites of Passage course for youth workers from across Europe, exploring how and why we use song and sound to gather, connect and maintain communities.

Zoie is also currently working on 'Born to Sing', her first songbook for choirs, due for completion in 2024.
See COMPOSITION for details.

Singing together is just a joy... without doubt the highlight of my week!

I couldn't believe the sound Zoie encouraged us to make together
I didn't think it was possible in such a short period of time!
A huge thank you for such a beautiful session- I’m telling everyone about it!

:
In my first few months of motherhood, making friends and even making conversation were a daunting prospect, but popping along to singing mamas and belting out some songs without any need for preparation or even much of a voice was an utter pleasure... not much beats the gentle companionship of fellow mums raising our voices to sing in friendship... especially when that includes Zoie and cake!

Just to say a huge THANK YOU for the wonderful session at Latitude this weekend. It was a deeply moving and enjoyable experience for myself and for my wife.
